Designing, building, remodeling-each of these can be intimidating. Each process is a journey with a lot of little side trips along the way. There seems so much to learn and so much to figure out, but as Lao-tzu stated, “A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.” This more often than not seems to be the case with most things we do, but especially the big things. If we take little steps, hopefully with a destination in mind, then we will eventually get where we are going. If we have a guide then the journey can be smoother, faster and hopefully even enjoyable.

Once you are ready we generally follow these steps:

Initial consultation

We come to your home, office or space to meet with you. The important point is that we meet with you-face to face. Sure we use this meeting to look at the information you have put together and talk about the project as a whole, but the most important aspect from a design perspective is that we get to know you, your style and your requirements. We are a custom cabinet shop, one size does not fit all, the only way for us to design your space is to meet with you and learn about who you are and what you like.

The next step is:

Design

Taking what we have learned about your project and you, we develop a design for your space. Consider this the roadmap for the whole journey. We need to make sure the map is accurate or we either won’t arrive where we want, or we’ll run out of gas along the way. Our responsibility at this point is to incorporate your ideas with our experience. Once the design work is complete then we will meet again and revise the design as needed.

Once we have an accepted design then we go to:

Production

Back at our shop we create material lists, cut lists and a bunch of other lists. We select our materials, take deliveries and begin cutting lots of big pieces of wood into small pieces of wood that are then assembled into bigger pieces of wood again in the form of cabinets. There is a lot of noise, dust and sweat along the way, all of which you are welcome to come and check out. At the end of it is a product that we are proud of or we will not release it from our shop.

Our last step is:

Delivery/Installation

Depending on the arrangements, we deliver the finished cabinetry to your site ready for installation by your own construction team, or we can complete the installation for you. Either way we like to be on-site to ensure that the installation goes smoothly and that any potential problems are resolved quickly and efficiently. Once the cabinetry is installed we have a final walk through to make sure everyone is satisfied.

After we are done your journey will continue, but we are always available to give advice or offer additional support along the way. We want you to be successful with your project. Your success is our success.
